Teach Longer provides value to teachers and administrators.
What to Expect
-
Frequent Pulse Checks
Based on your needs, expect your teachers to receive frequent (typically bi-weekly) pulse checks and scaffolding for providing constructive, anonymized feedback.
-
Quantitative Gauge
From the frequent pulse checks, administrators receive a one-page, anonymized data report. These reports are meant to be low lift while giving the opportunity to explore more if needed.
-
Self-Reflection
From teachers’ pulse responses, they will receive a short framework exercise to work on the category that bothers them the most. Better management might feel distant, so these frameworks provide value to teachers immediately after submitting.
-
Support
As you implement this intervention, I will be in your corner. While pulse surveys are common in corporate environments, they are new(er) to education. School leadership is an important journey, and I want to support you through that.
Past Pilot Results
Basic Intervention
-
The basic intervention was strictly a pulse check survey and one-page data reports to the principal.
Details:
Duration: Spring SY24-25
Frequency: Bi-Weekly
Location: VA
School Type: Public Middle School
School Size: <50 teachers
-
Despite starting the intervention mid-year, the school engaged with.
85% of all teachers engaged at least once
50% of teachers on average engaged in all bi-weekly cycles
-
The value teachers got for participating in the intervention was having the chance (1) to provide feedback and (2) to be managed better by their principal.
In the end of year feedback form, more than half of responses indicated that teachers would be at least “somewhat disappointed” if the intervention was to stop.
-
We checked in with the principal mid-pilot and post-pilot. The principal found the intervention to be helpful and used each data report to break from the day-to-day workflow.
The principal responded to feedback forms that they would be “somewhat disappointed” and “very disappointed” if the intervention stopped. The vice principal was included in discussions about their people management strategies for the upcoming cycle.
